Ms. Chileshe Kapwepwe is the board chairperson.
And among the newly appointed board members are Alfred Lungu who will be serving as vice chairperson, Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba, Bank of Zambia Governor Denny Kalyalya, and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice Ms Tandiwe Oteng.
Other members of the board are James Koni from the Bankers Association of Zambia, Kamalesh Shah from Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Musenga Musukwa from the Law Association of Zambia.
And speaking during the inaugural meeting of the eight newly appointed board members, Minister of Finance Felix Mutati said the appointment of a Woman as board chair gives pride and confidence that the authority will become stronger at all levels and help seal the gaps in tax administration.
Mr Mutati said Ms Kapwepwe brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the area of public policy, financial management and governance following a career spanning over 25 years in the local and international private and public sector organizations.
The minister of finance said this in a statement released to media houses by ministry of finance head of media and public relations Chileshe Kandeta.
