ZNBC employees have staged a sit-in protest over delayed payment of salaries

Armed police officers have surrounded ZNBC studios in Lusaka following a sit-in protest over delayed payment of salaries. The go slow has affected operations at both its Mass Media and Kitwe studios.

ZNBC employees have staged a sit-in protest over delayed payment of salaries, Workers have not received there February salaries which they were supposed to receive on 21st February.

Employees refused to enter their offices this morning demanding to be paid before they resuming their duties.

Meanwhile the Zambia Union of Broadcasters and other Information Disseminators (ZUBID) President Chomba Yumbe says workers are now fade up with management failure to pay salaries on time.

He has wondered how management expects the workers to meet their daily needs with such continued delayed payment of their monthly salaries.

Meanwhile Mwenda Mupunga, a Lusaka resident said that transporters have not being paid by FRA since 2014 they claim to have not received funding from government but the previous week the government released K2 million for consultation on ICC which does not even make sense in the eyes of Zambians.

He further said that ZNBC workers do not deserve any salaries for being the mouth piece for pf government alone.
