Opposition Green Party President Peter Sinkamba says it is regrettable that President Edgar Lungu has failed to take legal action against Agriculture Minister Dora Siliya.Mr. Sinkamba states that the people of Zambia expected the President to fire Ms. Siliya for being cited in the Zambia-Malawi maize scandal.
Mr. Sinkamba told The Giant Of Africa News that President Lungu should have emulated Malawian President Peter Mutharika, who demonstrated leadership by firing the Minister who was also cited in the scandal.
He adds that President Lungu’s silence on the matter is denying the citizens an opportunity to know what transpired in the transaction.
And Mr. Sinkamba has charged that the Anti-Corruption Commission of Zambia can only be effective in their duties with support from the Head of State.
